
Recommended program for diabetes and hypertension
1. Relaxation: Practice yoga based meditations regularly. Many clinical studies have proven that it lowers both blood glucose and lipid levels by acting centrally upon the hypothalamus to reduce mental and psychosomatic imbalance in our nervous and the related hormonal systems . Yoga nidra, chidakash , Antaraakash and hridayakash dharanas are considered very effective to restoring harmony and balance in the nervous system. 2. Asana: marjari-asana, vajrasana, shashankasana (static), rajju karshanasana, Dhanurasan, Vipreet Karni ,eka pada pranamasana are effective sans for activities the pancreas and reversing diabetic conditions. 3. Pranayama: Kapal Bhati, Simple nadi shodhana, ujjayi and bhramari are especially recommended for improved liver and pancreatic conditions. 4. Shatkriya: Laghoo shankhaprakshalana and the full course of shankhaprakshalana should only be practised under strict guidance. Omit salt in shankhaprakshalana to avoidfluid and electrolyte imbalances. 5. Correct diet and meal timings are important and a qualified dietician must be consulted. Adequate rest, exercise and sleep are also essential. We need to have counsellors for people with diabetic conditions as the disease and workplace stress are a killer combination. Employees need help and good advise to deal diabetic symptoms.
